Portfolio requirements for Intake
Sewing samples
A hand stitched hem
Gathering stitches attached to a band
Embroidery sample showing a running stitch, chain stich, herringbone, and blanket stitch
Hand sewn button
All sample techniques could be included within a garment / costume or in separate samples.
If executed separately a sample of 6β x 12β is required.
Please show at least one completed garment and no more than three.
Cosplay?
If you have props from cosplay we would be interested to see one piece
Related Skills
Include photos or small samples in your portfolio in order to show other related skills and artistic interests. For example, photography, drawing, painting, fabric dying and surface design, etc.

Admission Interviews
Faculty conduct interviews in February, and late March/early April for admission into the program.
We require you to submit a portfolio through Slideroom.
What we are looking for is anything that shows your passion for costumes and the arts. This can include any photos of costumes you have created for Theatre, Film or Cosplay, including Halloween.
We require samples that showcase your sewing abilities. A specific sewing sample list is provided above for when you make your application to the program. The sewing is utilized by the faculty more to determine the level of the class rather than acceptance.
We also like to see any art, sketchbooks, or craft projects.
